Being Small-holders with animals to house securley,we were faced with paying over the odds for flimsy flat-packed housing (most available on the internet is faltpack) or building our own.
From our experience the quality of other housing was at best temporary and at worst a total waste of money.
We built our first chicken coop 2 years ago,and have never looked back.
With the economy the way it is we are all feeling the pinch,so why spend your hard earned money on something you will need to replace next year.The Irish weather can rot a flatpack so easily, so the need for solid timber is essential if you want to protect your animals for years to come.
