JJ Hopkinson Mahogany Baby Grand (1926)

JJ Hopkinson is a common British make, varying from excellent to acceptable. Hopkinson upright pianos made from about 1915 to 1930 often have a rich and pleasing tone, with a responsive medium touch. Hopkinson baby grands are fair, about the same level as smaller Challen baby grands, so are best suited to the beginner who is after a piano that is easy to play and with a nice amount of weight in the keys to build finger strength. This original Hopkinson was traded in against a modern baby grand and was cared for, kept out of the sunlight, so there is no sun fade, a common issue with older baby grands, one side is often quite faded. Considering the case is unrestored, it's in good original condition for its great age. Two strings in the mid to high range were replaced five years ago. The internals were removed cleaned, re-aligned, regulated, and piano is tuned. Small sized baby grands tend to lack power in the Tenor and Bass register, but this Hopkinson has a much better Tenor and Bass than other grands of a similar size.
