Description

1992 Golf 1.8 GL Mk3 1H1 90bhp. GL model with electric windows etc., body and paintwork are pretty much pristine. Massive history file going all the way back to the original purchase receipt in the UK (imported over 10 years ago). Only 85k miles on the clock. I bought this car as a sleeper project with the plan of doing an engine swap, fast road running gear and full body refurb. The bodywork part of the project is done, which was the most expensive part to do. This cost ~9k euro, invoice included in history file; work done by well known Armstrong Body Repairs. I had no plan to sell before completing the sleeper but life happens and I can’t finish it now. Engine’s running reliably. It’s a turn-key, first time starter no matter how cold the weather, and is a grunty 1.8 litre 8v 90bhp (1H1 engine code): - huge work done on rust intervention, repairs and paintwork - new wing / sills / multiple panel repairs - window seals - aerial - wheels refurb’d and new tyres all round - throttle body gasket / plugs / timing belt / fan belt all done in 2020 - brake servo hose - oil and filter service every year since I bought it regardless of mileage - tax (56e) and NCT are both up to date and is the NCT is valid to October 2025. - dry stored in a garage during my ownership and only about 2k miles done in that time. - history file. What’s not so good? - centre console is a bit worn/scruffy. - the heater works when it wants to. - rocker cover gasket has a seep - the central locking stopped working recently. I can hear the vacuum pump still doing its thing, so that means a crack in one of the routing pipes or one has popped off a joint somewhere; no big deal I just lock it manually. She's a nice Golf. I work long hours, so please text or leave a message if I can't pick up.
