This was stored inside the rifle butt and used to drop oil into the mechanism. Probably 100 yrs old and came from historic Irish building so possibly used in Civil War. Brass tube and screw top lid with stainless steel spoon. Could latterly have been used as a snuff box. Measures 9 x 1 1/2 cm. In excellent condition. A great piece of early 1900’s Militaria .
