Honoré Dufin double bed Louis XV

This is the most valuable signed bed we have ever offered for sale in Ireland. It is the work of an artist from Lyon who is renowned worldwide. His furniture rarely changes hands; recently, I came across a four-poster bed from his workshop priced at €15,000. His workshop was located at Place des Célestins from 1880 to 1894. His second shop, at 49 Rue de la République, displayed furniture . He received awards at French and international exhibitions and was named an *Officier d'Académie* in 1890 . Honoré Dufin died on January 5, 1893, at his home at 15 Quai de la Guillotière in Lyon's 3rd arrondissement . His shops were taken over in 1900 by Henri Bonjour (We currently have his signed sideboard in the shop) , a furniture retailer; the new shop, located at 29 Rue de la Liberté, was named *Au Colosse de Rhodes* Around 1900, Roubo dedicated a work to him , acknowledging Dufin's influence on his art. Dufin paid great attention to the refinement of decoration through his sculptural work. He favored walnut wood for its qualities of fine grain, durability, and color. The beds consist of four parts: a headboard, a foot board, and two side rails. We have treated the beds with natural wax and fitted them with new mattress bases made of natural spruce slats.
