This is a high-quality artisan piece carved from heavy hardwood . The carving is detailed and expressive, with deep feather lines and beautifully smoothed facial features the level of craftsmanship typical of northern Thailand’s woodcarving villages in the early 2000s. The back is hand-hollowed, showing chisel marks and natural wood grain, which is exactly how authentic Thai carvings were made. There is a natural age crack on the back (very common in thick hardwood carvings), which was stabilised years ago it does not affect the strength or appearance from the front.
