Description
Smiths Enfield, floating balance, striking, mantle clock. Model, Knightsbridge. Year, 1958. A rare smiths enfield clock, especially in full working order. Case is in very good condition overall with only the occasional small mark to the paint work. Bezel and glass in very good condition with only the slightest amount of drop on opening. Numerals in very good condition. Movement has been stripped early 2024, all pivots polished and bushing work carried out. Mainsprings removed, cleaned, lubricated and refitted. All parts cleaned before assembly, with the work carried out, the clock should run for many years to come. Second picture shows the movement stripped. Please be advised, two days labour have gone into this clock movement. This is a striking clock, which strikes a spiral gong, once on the half hours, and the number required for each hour, there is no means to switch the strike off. Dimensions Approx, width- 4 inches, length- 7 1/4 inches, height- 10 1/4 inches. Please be aware that due to their nature, spring driven clocks may lose a few minutes per week, due to the fact this clock has a floating balance movement, there will be no issues with it going out of beat due to transport.
