by John Franklin 1786-1847. Navy officer and explorer. Lieutenant Governor of Van Dieman's Land 1837-1843. In1845 while exploring the North West Pasage himself and 129 crew were lost without trace. Internally, very clean with engravings present and correct. However, binding is very poor and maps are present but ragged. Ideally it needs rebinding. Hence the low price. !st edition.
