Flute

Classic J. Altrichter flute. Estimated 1880. This flute has to be played to be appreciated. Volume, tone and depth are the reason this flute has lasted 140 years. Its a pleasure to play , so comfortable in the hand. Perfect for Irish traditional music A = 440Hz. The case is original , no key for lock, both case and flute have been repaired and serviced during its lifetime. The flute is back to its original working order. The maker, Ferdinand Julius Altrichter (1845-1915) was based in Frankfurt an der Ober Germany. His quality of workmanship was recognised by Prince Friedrich Carl of Prussia who appointed Altrichter the royal musical instrument maker to the court of the Prussian Royal family. All 3 sections bear the Altrichter royal stamp.
