Chrysler PT Cruiser 2004

This PT cruiser failed its NCT because of under body corrosion two months ago in March so I went and got what they said needed repairing sorted and then at the retest in May they wanted even more welding done. In the mean time I've bought another classic car and my wife wants me to free up garage space for kids bikes so I've agreed to list the PT Cruiser as "selling for spares and repair" but will not take any less than €500 for it because getting this car back on the road will probably cost no more than 1K and there's too many good points: it's not a heap of junk at all. The other May '25 NCT fails are (1) a new back box, (2) ever so slightly high emissions (see NCT - easily sorted) and (3) fog lights. Until today I fully expected to keep and repair the car I have already booked an auto electrican and will proceed with the foglight repair. This means that if you buy this car then all that will need doing is (1) the welding, (2) exhaust back box (silencer) and (3) pre-test emissions additive. The good points are as follows: the car runs like a clock, it has 4 new tyres, the timing belt was done at 60K miles so not due for a while, its recent NCT shows no failures on suspension, brakes, steering etc. The inside is totally spotless like a new car and its never been smoked in and does not smell. The bad points: the aforementioned NCT failures and the paintwork is tired - FYI: the paint only looks pristine in the pics because I washed the car to sell. In summary: If you want PT Cruiser spares there are planty of good spares. If you would repair then its probably going to cost €1000 to get it past its NCT. If no one buys it I'll keep and eventually fix it all and even re-spray it because its a classic. Thanks for looking.
