Mazda CX-5 2.2 Skyactiv-D – Reduced Price Due to Cooling System Issue I am selling my 2014 Mazda CX-5 2.2 Skyactiv-D Executive, manual, with approximately 220,000 km. I bought the car around 2.5 years ago from Max Motors when it had approximately 178,000 km. It has mainly been used for long-distance driving, covering around 800 km per week while taking my son to school in Cork. The car has been regularly serviced. Before I purchased it, the dealer replaced the turbo and carried out carbon and DPF cleaning. I have not had any further problems with the turbo. The oil and oil filter were recently replaced. The thermostat was also replaced and the cooling system was flushed. Important information The selling price has been significantly reduced because there is still an issue with the cooling system. The engine can sometimes run hotter than normal, and the heating inside the car does not always work correctly when the engine is first started. After the car has been driven, particularly after a few acceleration cycles, the heating normally begins to work. This may indicate trapped air or contamination remaining in the cooling system. The system may need to be flushed several more times and properly bled. However, I cannot guarantee that this is the only cause, so the car is being sold with the fault clearly disclosed and will require further diagnosis or repair by the buyer. Apart from this issue, the car drives well and has been a reliable long-distance vehicle. The reason for sale is that my son now attends school closer to home, both my wife and I work locally, and we already have a second petrol car.
