Volvo S40 2007 **NCT FAIL - big work needed**

Volvo S40ii (2007) *Engine rebuild may be needed* This car would be ideal for a mechanic who knows how to get it back past the NCT. Lovely car to drive, just too costly to repair to NCT standard. The usual scuffs for its age but in excellent condition inside. 1.8l Ford petrol engine Positives Road tax until end April 2025 Driving really well (but please see NCT fails below which will need to be fixed) Full leather seats in excellent condition Brilliant sound system (factory premium) with good bass in dash and crisp sound Leather multifunction steering wheel with stereo and cruise control a/c with dual zone climate control 6 cd changer all elec windows 4 good tyres recently had front and rear suspension work completed (last year for NCT). All works completed by Atlas Swords and history provided. Negatives Failed NCT on 22 Mar for: emissions (at high idle: Lambda 0.9, CO 2.9%, HC 737ppm) indicator stuck (new stalk likely needed) exhaust mounting (needs to be welded to mounting spring at last mounting point before end of car) Seems to be going through a lot of engine oil Any questions / inspections welcome. I will provide full fail sheet for anybody interested, but all failed items are detailed above. This car needs work to pass the NCT. According to a mechanic I spoke with, it's likely that the bottom half of the engine will need to be rebuilt, so this car is only of use to somebody with the skills or budget to do that.
