Description
In 1966 we saw the 50th anniversary of the Easter Rising, and to mark this occasion the very first Irish commemorative coin was struck! Struck in solid silver, this coin is the only Irish coin to have concave striking, meaning the coin dips in the centre on both faces. Many of the 1966 Ten Shillings were melted down the year they were produced, due to a lack of popularity which could have been because of the Series A (Irish Ten Shilling) Banknote which was already in circulation. However, the few examples that still exist today prove extremely popular with collectors and are often difficult to obtain making this a highly sought after Irish coin. I am selling my mint condition uncirculated very rare 'Pádraig Pearse' Irish Silver 1966 Ten Shilling coins and they are available for the amount of 50.00 euro each which includes postage throughout Ireland. They will come to you in a sleeve which normally hold two coins but can send individually. This is a wonderful opportunity to have a piece of Irish history in solid silver and the price of silver is going up so these coins are an investment also not just of historical value. No time wasters please Thanks for looking
