Great experience with Finlay motor group and Michael. Bought a lovely 2017 Audi a5 which is in immaculate condition. After a few days I realised the air con wasn’t working properly, Michael got it all sorted for me with a brand new air con system and provided me with a free courtesy car while it was being repaired. Would highly recommend.
I paid €40 for a new tyre pressure sensor, and less than 15 minutes after leaving the garage, the exact same warning appeared on my dashboard again. The time on my receipt and the time in the photo I took of the dashboard clearly show how quickly the problem returned. Unfortunately, I couldn’t go back immediately because I had to get to work and couldn’t spend another afternoon at the garage. On the next working day, I called them and was told that it was just a coincidence and that another tyre sensor probably had a low battery. What I don’t understand is: if another sensor was causing the warning, why wasn’t this checked when I specifically brought the car in because of this issue? Why was I charged €40 for a sensor if the same error appeared literally 15 minutes after leaving? This wasn’t the first time I mentioned the problem. The week before, I brought my car in for a service and told them I was having problems with the tyre sensor. They recalibrated it and sent me home. The following week, when I brought the car back to have an issue with the gearbox checked, I specifically asked them again to check the tyre sensor because the warning was still appearing. I was then told a new sensor was needed, so I paid €40 for it — only for the exact same warning to come back within 15 minutes. At this point, I’m left wondering whether the sensor was actually replaced, whether the underlying problem was properly diagnosed, or whether they simply don’t know how to resolve the issue, despite being a Ford centre. I also had another issue after the service, as the interior of my car was left dirty. To be fair, they did call me back about that complaint and offered me a valeting service, which I appreciated. I’m not saying that nobody should use this garage. I’m simply saying that, based on my experience, I won’t be going back. When I pay for a repair and the exact same problem returns 15 minutes later, it’s very difficult to have confidence in the work.
