Description
This an antique print is titled “The Duke of Beaufort’s Leaving the Bull and Mouth for Brighton”. The duke was an enthusiastic coach driver and in the 1830s acquired the coach line between London and Brighton - a posh route - soon alas to be superseded by the arrival of the railways. The painter of the original picture was WJ Shayer, a popular choice of printers for he was a fine depicter of country scenes. This is a very early print I’m it’s original fine frame. 70 x 54 cm
