Pearl Free Floating Brass Snare Drum – 6.5x14" | Vintage 1980s | Made in Taiwan | Serial #88623 Up for sale is a beautifully preserved Pearl Free Floating Brass Snare Drum from the original 1980s Taiwan-made series. Known for its signature free-floating shell design, this snare offers bold tone, incredible projection, and vintage character that modern drums often can’t match. This size is now very rare and much sought after. I bought this drum brand new in the '80s and have owned it ever since. It's been well cared for over the years and remains in very good condition. It was only ever used for larger gigs and was always transported in a hardcase, The shell and hardware are all original — with the exception of the snare wires and drum heads, which have been replaced for better performance.
