Each Voice can include up to 8 Elements using Expanded Articulation (XA Mode) to realistically simulate acoustic instrument playing techniques. Performances allow up to four Voices in layers or splits, with intelligent chord recognition and a 4-part arpeggiator offering 6,000 phrases for instant musical backing. Ideas can be recorded directly from Performance mode into the sequencer. Master Mode supports up to eight zones, making the XS an ideal master keyboard. Real-time control options include a Ribbon controller, Pitch Bend and Modulation wheels, 8 knobs, 8 faders, and assignable buttons. A 320x240 color LCD provides clear navigation, while Remote Control mode enables DAW integration. Connectivity includes USB-to-Device, Ethernet, 4 analog outputs, S/PDIF digital out, and IEEE 1394 (built-in on XS8, optional on XS6/XS7) for seamless computer studio use.
