This Antonio Citterio masterpiece by Maxalto is the epitome of contemporary European furniture design, of peerless quality, and exhibits detailing and execution of an unrivalled standard. This chair is dressed in the highest grade Gamma Italian leather that is as tough as rhino skin yet luxuriously soft and tactile and in as good as new condition. It is both functional and aesthetically pleasing and makes a wonderful centrepiece in any room. Dimensions: W: 72 cms D: 76 cms H; 67 cms Width seating area 52 cms The story behind this chair may be of interest; It was originally designed by a famous Italian architect/designer called Antonio Citterio for leading Italian leather manufacturers Maxalto who got a contract to supply 40 of these chairs to Lufthansa for their first class premier lounge in Frankfurt airport. They used 36 of the chairs in the lounge and kept 4 as spares. Mine is one of those 4 ! They were never used and were sold as a lot together with the other 36 a number of years ago by Lufthansa ( you can see Lufthansa inventory barcode still on bottom of chair). It is in amazingly good condition, almost without any sign of use or age, and there isn't a mark, tear, stain or blemish on it as it has been very lightly used. The chair originally cost 2,500 pounds sterling each , and on the rare occasions that they come up for sale they are advertised in the region of 1,400 pounds by traders.
