BMW K 1200 LT 1999

Please read Ad fully before ringing!! Low mileage and clean. Starts first time every time. Usually smokey on cold startup (usually but not always). Smoke clears after run, then no smoke when hot or restarted after a break. Abs and brake light flash slowly and brake feels normal to me and run in non abs mode but please check for yourself. I bought it a few months ago and apart from smoke issue, until driven, I realised it is too heavy for me compared to 20 years ago. Previous owner had it for approx 6 years and put up less than 800 miles from documentation. Intermittent smoke and intermittent poor running has been suggested as being caused by brittle or poor valve seals due to lack of use. Possibly oil control ring issue in the mix but more likely valve seals but you or your mechanic will need to assess. I am selling with huge drop in money from what I paid for it, but it will be sold at fair price as is. I dropped it twice when putting on side stand and could not life alone. It is a heavy bike and top heavy for me when going slow. That said, they are fantastic bikes. Had one 20 years ago and loved it. Loads of storage, fuel injected and reverse gear. Tyres are good, recent battery and taxed. Calls between 10am - 9pm
