A very positive and relaxed experience. The staff were friendly, helpful, and took the time to talk me through everything. They helped me pick out a full set of gear that suited both my needs and budget.

I visited BikeWorld on the Long Mile Road last Wednesday at around 4pm with every intention of putting a cash deposit down on a motorcycle that day. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing.

There were several staff members on the floor, including two behind the desk and another sales rep walking around in a red hoodie, yet not one person approached me to ask if I needed help. When I first arrived, the staff were happily chatting away to other male customers, but once they left, no effort whatsoever was made to engage with me.

I couldn’t help but feel ignored because I’m a woman. The sales rep in the red hoodie even walked straight past me without acknowledging me once. I left feeling upset, uncomfortable, and honestly quite disgusted by the level of customer service.

Since then, I’ve visited other motorcycle dealerships and, thankfully, had completely different experiences. In fact, I ended up travelling to Northern Ireland where I was treated with respect immediately, approached as soon as I walked in the door, and made to feel welcome and valued as a customer.

Riding motorcycles has nothing to do with gender, and dealerships should understand that. Women riders deserve the exact same level of respect, attention, and professionalism as anyone else walking through the door.

I won’t be spending any money at BikeWorld after this experience. Either the staff need proper customer service training, or the culture in the showroom seriously needs to change. Do better.

I strongly do not recommend Bikeworld at all. In Dublin there are several much better shops for buying motorcycle gear, and after my experience I want to make sure no one else falls into the same trap.

This week I went to the physical Bikeworld store to buy two identical helmets, one for me and one for my boyfriend. They did not have the right size for him, so I ended up buying only mine on the spot, thinking it would be better to go to another shop to buy his so we could match.
What a surprise when I bought the same model in another shop: the helmet came as a complete kit, with the visor prepared for Pinlock and the Pinlock insert already included in the price. At Bikeworld the price of the helmet plus the visor was already quite expensive, and on top of that they charged for the Pinlock separately, which made my purchase much more expensive.
I was completely disappointed with the lack of honesty. For a shop specialising in motorcycles and gear, I expected far more transparency. Not being transparent about what really constitutes the complete helmet kit is unacceptable.
After this experience, I doubt everything else related to this shop. It has simply destroyed all my confidence in them and I will not be buying from Bikeworld again.
