See photos 'Z-Shaped tine bars' are bolted (not welded) onto 8 flat central supports to absorb and spread peak loads. In case of a collision, a Z shaped tine bar can be simply un-bolted & replaced. No cutting & welding an angle iron in to replace a tine bar (this really affects the balance of the rotor).
