Description
This is my latest premium handcrafted chessboard built to World Chess Championship (WCC) specifications. Please see my other feedback. This is not a cheap board. Boards that are low priced are made from, low quality, cheap materials. Every detail, from the choice of materials to the finishing touches, is designed for both beauty and playability. Some key aspects are listed below: - Premium Hardwood Construction – Crafted from solid walnut and maple, the 2” playing squares create a striking contrast, framed elegantly with white American oak. The hardwood birch base ensures long-term stability while preventing warping. - Perfect Dimensions – Measuring 18” x 18” x 1”, this board provides the ideal size. - Felted & Balanced Chess Pieces – The chess pieces are weighted for a superior feel and balance and come with green felt laser cut bases, allowing for smooth, silent movement. 100mm height is the size of the king. - True Handmade Quality – Unlike mass-produced or imported boards made with poor quality materials, this chess board is crafted entirely from hardwood in my small workshop in Kilkenny, Ireland. If you are looking at this board and saying to yourself, this is just too expensive, I'm sorry, this board isn't for you. Long hours have gone into making this along with precision cut square pieces so every square matches up perfectly.
