Description
This beautiful gittern (citola, citole, chittarino, guinterna) is the Medieval and very early Renaissance forerunner of the guitar. Made in 2012 in Assisi, Italy by master luthier Vincenzo Cipriani and based upon a miniature in the Cantigas de Santa Maria (with a rosette based upon a fresco in the basilica of St. Francis in Assisi). Body in figured maple, and soundboard in red spruce from Italy's Val di Fiemme. Diapason=480mm. Purchased in 2022 from its owner in Italy for several concerts in Ireland, and has been used since then for several other projects, but is now no longer needed. Very sad to part with it but would be glad for it to make music in a new home and in new hands! Please write with any questions. Comes with the semirigid case shown, including shoulder strap (very light and convenient, and protects it well). Also includes the info sheet (in Italian) with steel string gauges recommedned by V. Cipriani and component details. Free national courier/shipping included in Buy it Now price (please write me before making an offer if you have any doubts). Will include insurance to the full value.
