Rare Slingerland May Bell "Nite Hawk" Banjo

1920's Chicago made Slingerland May Bell "Recording Nite Hawk" 19 fret Tenor Banjo...... a rare high grade model from Slingerland's models of the time. Very comfortable, 22 1/2 inch scale length giving easy reach to higher notes. Constructed with an American Walnut neck, rim and flange-attached resonator allowing for easy removal and conversion to open back playing. Low, easy string action with perfect intonation all the way up the neck. Fingerboard inlaid with diamond-shaped pearl position dots. Headpiece with mother-of-pearl ornaments hand engraved. The flattop pot is made with a bell-like spun-over tone ring built on the walnut rim giving a powerful but mellow tone.
