Description

Lovely MZ ES 150/1 Trophy for sale. Fully restored by a MZ expert with over 40 years experience. Full engine rebuild, replaced cables, wiring, rubbers - basically everything that wears out or degrades - It starts well and runs beautifully, as you would expect - it’s probably the closest you can get to a brand new bike, and always brings a smile to my face when I ride it. However, the bike is so good it belongs in a museum or private collection. It has completed 500 km since rebuild and is completely run in now. List of replacements include: all engine bearings, new crank rebore, new piston and rings, clutch plates, chain, chain rubbers, all suspension units, silencer and exhaust, both stands, wiring loom, 6v battery, all tyres and tubes, rear carrier, seat cover, new points, regulator, carb kit fitted and rebuilt etc. All parts genuine MZ or OEM. MZ were the king of 2 stroke bikes. Made in East Germany their bikes were superbly built and fast. They took over and improved on the legacy created by DKW after WW2. Their bikes reigned supreme in the 1950s, 60s and 70s. In 1961 their top rider Ernst Degner defected to Japan and with the know how he provided, enabled Suzuki to win their first ever world championship the following year. Honda spent millions trying to create 4 stroke bikes that could compete with MZ and he couldn’t do it. The speed that MZ bikes created used resonance and expansion chambers never seen before and the research came from Hitlers V1/V2 rocket technology. Their bikes used a lot of aluminium parts , which kept weight down yet increased strength. The detail on this bike and build quality needs to be seen to be appreciated. Built like a tank. It has been superbly painted in army green. The asking price doesn’t justify the parts cost alone. These bikes have a cult following worldwide with clubs and great parts availability. UK reg You’ll never see another like this and at Honda 50 money! *comes with very rare factory mechanics manual
