1948 Jowett Javelin

First introduced in the immediate post war years, the Jowett Javelin was something of a departure for the Bradford firm. Designed by Gerald palmer, it featured a 1.5litre flat four engine, torsion bar suspension and a monocoque body-an ambitious combination for a British saloon of the late 1940’s. Its clean aerodynamic lines, with curved windscreen and integrated wings, gave it a distinctly modern look, particularly when set against the more conservative designs of its contemporaries. Registered in 1948, this example JOH184 has column-mounted gear selector and centrally positioned instrumentation. The car is offered with its original buff logbook and retains its period registration.
