1969 Jaguar E Type Series 2 2 plus 2 4.2 litre straight 6 with triple carbs 5 speed Getrag conversion, wire wheels, black leather interior, Mota Lita wooden steering wheel. Quality restoration Supplied new on 20th June 1969 by Walter E. Sturgess of Leicester. 3 owners in the UK, last of whom advertised it in the 2007 June edition of Classic and Sports car magazine. It was described then as Signal Red with black leather interior, 50,620 genuine miles, 3 owners, stainless exhaust, bare metal respray by Alan Procter, superb inside and out, documented from new, owned from 1989, never been out in the rain whilst in my ownership Car was imported at that stage by a classic car restorer in Co Clare who embarked on a thirteen year restoration of the mechanicals and cosmetics. Invoices on file details a parts spend than runs to to thousands of euro. Result is a fabulous example that drives as well as it looks. The Getrag 5 speed box conversion enables the car to be driven on motorways in a relaxed manner. Huge history files contains a Jaguar Heritage certificate, details of previous owners in the UK, photos of the respray in 1996 as well as more taken in 2007 prior to sale and in 2008 showing the start of the mechanical rebuild. There are also old MOTs and a stack of invoices covering the parts spend from 2008 to 2020 The exterior of the fine example presents in impeccable condition. The coachwork and chrome are without blemish with good panel gaps. The interior is excellent too with just the right level of patina to the leather seats. The car drives as well as any E Type Ive had and has a lovely sonorous note from the stainless exhaust. A recent set of wire wheels is the icing on the cake. A wonderful example.
