1973 Alfa Romeo 1600 Junior Fully Restored

This 1973 Alfa Romeo 1600 GT Junior, is an original right hand drive car, with that legendary twin cam engine and 5 speed gearbox. It completed a major restoration in early 2025, during which it was stripped to a bare shell, mounted on a rotisserie, all corrosion was removed, new metal work was welded in place and the underside, engine bay, interior and exterior were repainted in red. The total cost of the restoration is probably close to €50,000. It was an extensive project, that is fully supported by invoices and photographs. The end result is a 105 Coupe that looks and drives better than it ever has. A huge amount of new and improved parts sourced from Alfaholics. Stainless steel exhaust. Clutch kit including lightweight flywheel, master and slave cylinder. Adjustable dual circuit brake balance box. A set of GTA Veloce Wheels and Michelin Tyres. All hoses, seals, trims, and electrical items were sourced from “Classic Alfa”. Approximately 8,000 miles ago the rear axle was rebuilt as was the engine. That engine work included new pistons and liners, conrod bearing set and bottom timing chain. During the 2024 restoration, the suspension, brake and fuel system were rebuilt. Now the car drives and handles better than it ever did. The interior was also retrimmed in black leather in 2010 and had aged beautifully so it was reinstated in the 2025 restoration and it gives the interior a really nice patina. Restoration is an expensive and time consuming exercise. This car allows you to skip the queue and jump into a car right now, for a lot less than it would cost to buy a donor and restore it yourself.
