Lexus LS400 (Exceptional low mileage car)

There are certain cars that change the automotive world forever. The Jaguar XJ perfected the luxury saloon. The Mercedes-Benz S-Class defined it. But when Lexus launched the LS400 in 1989, it simply embarrassed the establishment. Developed with a budget rumoured to exceed $1 billion and involving over 1,400 engineers, the LS400 wasn’t designed to compete with the Germans – it was designed to make them start again. Finished in elegant Metallic Champagne over a beautifully preserved Grey leather interior, this stunning example has covered just 59,000 miles from new. Having spent much of its life in Jersey before being imported to the UK in August 2024, it has had just one former UK owner and remains one of the most original, unspoilt examples we’ve ever encountered. The doors close with that famous Lexus bank-vault feel, every switch operates with precision and, on the road, it genuinely feels like a car that’s barely been run in. Mechanically it wants for nothing. Prior to sale it received an interim service and new rear brake pads, while recent maintenance includes a cambelt and water pump replacement in 2024, new auxiliary belt and idler pulley, alternator and 12-volt battery. Supporting the mileage is an exceptional history file, including a Lexus main dealer service printout together with the original maintenance booklet carrying over 27 service stamps. Specification includes heated front and rear seats, electrically adjustable memory seats, automatic transmission with overdrive, Lexus Premium Sound System, climate control, sun roof, cruise control, walnut wood trim, electric sunroof and all the luxury touches expected of Lexus’ flagship model.
