Lotus Excel SE 1987, full leather interior

Selling my Lotus Excel SE 1987 in calypso red colour with beige full leather interior and 47 thousand miles on clock. Fairly unknown and rare sports car, be prepared for people telling you it looks fantastic and then immediately asking you what it is (happens every single time). While circa 2100 Excels were made during 10 production years, majority sold in UK, yet only about 115 are on road and another 300 SORN, so it is a very rare vehicle (for comparison, for same years there are slightly over 2000 Esprits on road or SORN in UK or Porsche made more 944s in a 2 months than Excels were made in 10 years). Surprisingly cheap to run, all spares are available in the UK for a decent price (much cheaper than Porsche for start) and for a Lotus from the eighties runs very reliably (the car never let me down, always started and got me where I wanted without problem). Unlike Esprit there is a ton of space in the engine bay and it is fairly easy to work on. No computer anywhere in the car. The car is ready for the season, if you are looking for something rare that will bring a smile to you and everyone around every time you drive it while not ruining your wallet, with the price of Excels, you can’t really do any better. During the previous 5 years, a LOT of work has been done. The car has covered about 8tkm in the last 5 years. Naming few, but probably not all: New bushes all around, new coil over suspension, new brakes, new clutch, refurbished steering rack, all auxiliaries refurbished (power steering pump, water pump, alternator, aircon compressor), new stainless steel exhaust (plus another as spare) wheels refurbished (6x), new tyres, carbs refurbished, valve clearance set when engine was out, whole aircon refurbished, timing belt and pulley (replaced in Nov 2024), all fluids done. Plus another TON of smaller things like under bonnet insulation, headliner, gauges, water expansion tank, dash, various filters, hoses,... Most work done by Lotusbits in the UK.
