Mercedes 280se 3.5 RHD W108

Mercedes 280se 3.5 W108 RHD original UK car imported into Ireland almost 20 years ago and was part of a private collection. Cult status and a popular choice of the F1 fraternity and celebrities such as Kate Moss. etc. I purchased the car over a year and half ago as a working project and had many great days driving in it last summer and put it into storage for the winter and spring. It does start and run but could do with a good service as it’s running rich and is jumpy. The brakes are also stiff and need attention ie pads and discs which I bought and will accompany the car. Presented in its original Deep Red and cognac leather interior which is in very good condition. Chrome work in reasonable condition could do with a good polish. 3 of the 4 windows operate sunroof works fine too which is fantastic on summer days. The body and sills will need attention but panels etc are easy to come by unlike the W111. This is a car that could be used as is or taken to another level depending on your budget. These are extremely rare cars and not to be confused with the American 4.5 or the South African 6 cylinder versions. According to the SL shop there are only 98 RHD examples in existence and this might be the only one for sale at the moment. But this is nowhere near a concourse example and if you want one of those there are plenty of dealers who may be able to source one for you but expect to pay at least £40k plus. With prices of the W111 3.5 gone astronomical this could be a last chance to own its sibling that still gives the same V8 pleasure and you can also bring everyone with you.
