Mitsubishi Pajero SWB Turbo Intercooler

There is just something undeniably cool about a short wheelbase Pajero. Simple, honest, incredibly capable machines that have now firmly earned their place as proper modern classics. We have been lucky enough to sell quite a few of these over the past couple of months and every time one arrives in we are reminded why people love them so much. This particular MK1 Mitsubishi Pajero 2.5 Turbo Diesel is without doubt one of the cleanest examples we have had. Originally a Japanese car, it presents beautifully throughout and has clearly been very well looked after during its life. Finished in Sophia White and paired with a superb grey cloth interior, the car has a fantastic period look and feel. It was nicely specified from factory with electric windows, electric tailgate lock, auto-locking four wheel drive hubs and factory air conditioning, which is working exactly as it should. Showing just 118,000 miles from new, the Pajero feels tight, solid and very well sorted. The timing belt and water pump were replaced last year which is always a very important job to see done on these engines. We have also just carried out a major service ourselves including oil and filters, a front idler suspension arm, front brake discs and pads along with a full caliper overhaul. The diesel pre-heat system has also been gone through to ensure everything is functioning correctly. As a result the jeep drives exactly how it should — strong, smooth and reassuringly solid. One of the standout features of this example is just how honest it is underneath. The chassis and underside have never been covered in thick black underseal or Schutz and instead present clean, original and exactly how you want to see a classic like this. It is very rare to find one that has not been hidden under layers of coating and this really speaks to the condition of the vehicle overall. Inside and out the Pajero presents exceptionally well and is genuinely one of the nicest examples we have had through our doors. With just 118,000 miles on the clock there is still a huge amount of life left in this brilliant little 4x4. These short wheelbase Pajeros have become incredibly sought after and it is easy to see why — practical, cool and full of character. A very honest, very clean example and a seriously cool piece of kit.
