What fantastic service I received from Caimin at jd swords. I'd reviewed other dealers renault, mg and even though the id3 was slightly more expensive Caimin went through everything and convinced me it was the best choice. I'm delighted with my car and the service I received.

Bought a car here in late 2022 for +20k, was sold it with no NCT! Advised by sales rep it was my responsibility to get one but that it would pass. It failed the NCT twice! Cost me money and stress. Manager admitted sales rep should only sell car with NCT. A month later the car had to be brought back as was making really strange mechanical noises (really bad). Sorted apparently using fuel injection cleaner. Late last year the flywheel went, they wanted 3k to fix that! Laughed at me when I said they should be responsible and quote said "it's 10 years old lad, you should do the cash machine competition". This was a high stress situation where I had just lost my mother and was laid off from my job. Then my car gone too!! I didn't need the smart ass comments at that time or laughing at me as if I was stupid. The attitude of the company was that if you pay 20k for a car it should only last you for two years post purchase because it's 10 years old and go and gamble because it ain't their issue. I subsequently got the flywheel fixed for 2700 in a garage, after that the mechatronic unit failed and now the DSG gearbox has failed. So essentially I've paid: 20k for the car 2700 for flywheel 3000 for mechatronic Gearbox likely 3000 too. So essentially I've paid 29k for nothing! Because the car is useless and just a black money hole. I've had no car for a month, these absolute morons in Joe Duffy call asking how the car is going now and again. However when you want help, they laugh at you and make you feel stupid, undervalued and as if money is worthless. This was by far the worst spent money, I'll never buy from this company again and I'll be recommending everyone to avoid them. Bad car quality, bad attitude, bad service and repair policies.

Today, when I arrived at Volkswagen Swords and sat near the parts room, the staff member told me, “You’re sitting at my desk,” instead of directing me properly. When I went into the parts room, the parts manager, who was very grumpy, refused to give me a timeline for my part, even after four days of waiting. When I asked for a refund, he told me to wait outside. Sitting back down first staff member gave me a dirty look and told me to get up and leave his desk. Managers excuse was your disturbing him on a phone call. Finally, I got my refund, and the same female manager accused me of having a bad attitude as I wasn’t happy about how I was spoken too. When I explained what happened she took no responsibility for the team’s behaviour and never acknowledged the poor treatment from the staff only evaluated my response to abusive treatment. When Volkswagen Ireland contacted the manager here she denied everything and told Volkswagen Ireland that it was my fault with no explanation as to why. Would never buy a car off them again. Folks read others reviews too we can’t all be wrong.
