THEY DONT DESERVE ONE STAR
imagine purchasing a car from these guys and giving them 19k euro and find they sell you a lemon and haven't a backbone to follow queries up. I know full well that we signed a waiver excusing them from blame, however, DONT GET CAUGHT BY THEM, YOU.
We bought a hyundai ioniq 6 from them 2.5 weeks ago and after 500kms or less, most of which was driving from buncrana to Limerick, we had to be towed to a local hyundai dealer because the ICCU has to be replaced and 6 to 8 weeks car will be parked up. I contacted auto fleet by phone, text and what's app and the response was nada nothing. I only wanted advice but you would swear they thought I was looking for a refund.
They are the most inhospitable people to deal with, haven't a clue about customer service or after care service and certainly haven't a clue about electric vehicles. We had to point out missing charger cable even. Please think twice about dealing with them unless you like dealing with bandits.
Totally ignorant of the personal circumstances that being without a vehicle for 2 months and don't give an absolute continental.
Advice to them, don't sell what you can't service and at least develop empathy

We recently purchased a double trussed storage tent from this company a fantastic family business, staff are so polite and helpful, we highly recommend this business and will definitely be back again! It was also nice to see the owner of the company hands on working in the business along side employees which says alot about a business. 5 stars

Just picked up my new lawn rake bucket, I’m very happy with it. The first time I received the bucket, I wanted an adjustment made. They were very accommodating and made the adjustment really fast, I really appreciated that and I would highly recommend this company!!

Our first choice for new buckets and attachments. Top quality products with a great service. We have dealt here for many years and will continue to do so for many years to come. Mullan Plant Hire.

Amazing company Laura in the office was so helpful I live in Florida wanted a quick hitch she made it so easy for us to get one and ship it to me this company is one call away for any attachment need and prices are very fair

Very poor service. I paid for a shed to be delivered and paid for freight from the supplier to Brian Scott and from Brian Scott to my location. I made it clear that I did not have lifting equipment to offload the shed, yet was told it needed lifting equipment when it arrived.
I spent weeks trying to get the company to refund me the extra cost I paid to hire lifting equipment but they refused.
Poor customer service and low levels of knowledge regarding how their products are delivered

Bought a CLA 250e off Danny recently, and can't fault either the car, or the amazing service he provides. Imported it into the south, and he made collecting it very straightforward, bringing it down to Dublin for us to collect. Communication throughout the purchase was excellent, provided a video walk round of the car we were interested in, and made the VRT details very easy to understand. I can't recommend highly enough.

I live in Dublin and bought my car from Carhills after seeing an ad on DoneDeal.

Danny provided exceptional service both during and after the sale. He helped me with all the import paperwork and any other necessary documents.

I highly recommend this company — excellent customer service.

I recently bought a BMW X5 from Carhill Cars to import to ROI. Communication was excellent, the whole ordeal was painless and Danny was extremely helpful and even got the car through VRT for me. Overall delighted with the deal, I highly recommend them.

Absolutely love my '95 mk3 Golf. Danny + Liam were brilliant to deal with and even fitted a new sound system as the original tape player was a bit dated for today's tech.
Been driving it for over 3 years and hasn't given me any issues yet. Carhill Cars are the best in the biz!

I had a really good experience buying a car and bringing it into the Republic of Ireland with Carhill. Danny was a top man who was happy to answer any questions I had regarding the car before I made the journey from Dublin. I was in touch with a few other dealers while in the market for a car, and none of them compared to the service I got from Carhill. I will certainly be getting in contact with Danny and Carhill when I am looking for an upgrade in a couple of years.

If you’re looking for a cool and stylish holiday in a modern campervan or motorhome – you can live the dream with Causeway Campers! Based in the centre of the Causeway Coast and with 8 pickup locations across the Emerald Isle.

Causeway Campers offers the perfect way to explore the Causeway Coast and Glens of Ireland, or any part of Ireland for that matter. Enjoy the holiday of a lifetime, with adventure around every corner.

We rented a campervan from Causeway Campers for a 10-day tour across Ireland and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! The van Garry provided us with was in perfect condition — spotless, well-equipped, and ready for the road. What really made the difference was Garry's outstanding customer service: friendly, professional, and always available when needed, even via WhatsApp for any questions or assistance along the way. The pricing is very fair and transparent, and Garry is always happy to walk you through every detail, including the deposit refund process and timelines. If you're planning a road trip through Ireland and looking for a reliable, hassle-free campervan rental, look no further — Causeway Campers comes highly recommended!

This was our first camper van holiday exploring the west coast of Ireland was amazing! Incredible scenery, total freedom, and memories we’ll never forget. The camper was spot on 👍. We loved every minute and can’t wait for our next adventure, thanks again to Causeway Campers 👍☘️

Last Tuesday we picked up our rental campervan in Belfast near Lenian Place Train Station and received instructions about the use of the campervan from Marty.
We would like to let you know we were really happy with the thorough instructions and the time Marty took to answer all our questions. Especially with the new van. His enthusiasm and thoroughness really helped us to get to know the van and be able to start our holiday in a very pleasant way! Thanks again! Kind regards, Jaco and Gerrieke.

We had a great experience hiring Romeo from Causeway Campers. The front tyres were quite worn but legal. We were shown around the motorhome with full instructions on how to use everything. The hot water control occasionally went to fault, although this was covered in the handover we relied on the information in the glovebox to rectify. The waste water level indicator did not work so judgement was required which is not so easy when it is an unfamiliar motorhome. We were asked for a deposit the day before picking up. As we were travelling it is fortunate we were able to deal with this. We also had to chase repayment. However we would recommend Causeway Campers and if we weren't buying our own motorhome would hire from them again.

1 star is too many! Our vehicle was 'involved in an accident'2 days before our booking, what a surprise. This issue is mentioned in other reviews I have seen for this company, I do not believe they own the newer vans they claim to have, when we booked. The van we got given was 5 years older than the one we had specifically booked. And boy did it have issues. The shower room leaked, every time we were in the shower, all over the main living area, causing us huge issues every day. This resulted in my partner using campsite showers instead (not what you pay for when booking a motorhome with shower included!). It even leaked outside on one occasion. x2 of the blinds did not close, they were broken, one by the table and seating area and the other by the bed, offering us absolutely no privacy. The main door did not open from the outside, so having to come in and out through the main cab doors was very inconvenient. The main door also did not seal properly at the top (you could see daylight through the top when the door was pushed from the inside!). This caused significant noise when driving on the motorway, which was both uncomfortable and concerning.

Our emails to the company eventually went unanswered and we are also still waiting for our security deposit to be returned, well beyond the 30 day period they state in their terms and conditions. Their customer service is atrocious and the company is unprofessional and incompetently run.

I'm seeking the return of the deposit through our credit card company. However the formal complaint that I sent, which has been signed for and delivered, to ask for compensation (we paid £1000 for the van which had significant faults therefore not fit for purpose) has, surprise surprise gone unanswered. I'm also in contact with the tourist board for Northern Ireland and all the consumer champions at all the major newpapers in the UK. I will shout it from the rooftops how the company treats their customers, and I will not stop until I feel they have responded to me appropriately.

Great service from Mark. Found the car online , purchased and delivered in 5 days. Was always kept up to date and would recommend to everyone.

Top service from day 1. Donnan has been a massive help for my business as I needed a good reliable van. He goes out of his way each time to help out anyone and I highly recommending this top class service.

No problem attitude, can do, for sure, sorted me with a car in such a short space of time.
Thanks again 👌

Best in the bussiness unbelievable service
Couldn't fault them in anyway 5* service everytime I deal with donan with keeping my bussiness on the road all year round

Unfortunately this hasn’t been a great after-sales experience.

I will add initial stages were positive, Cathy sent videos and answered questions given distance made it tough to view in person .

The initial advert noted “no Vat to pay “ which made me interested initially and made a call to be advised it was a mistake and was actually a vat qualifying van , and the advert was changed to state so .

During videos I noted some bumps in the body , tape holding a door handle and damaged mirror .

I was still interested but negotiated a reduced price to allow for repairs , and take the sting out the initial misleading advert noting the vat costs and transport costs . (UK)

£1000 from the total balance .

I arranged transport (professional trailer ) and it was collected and dropped at my door .

The next morning (day one ) of planning to drive after insuring and road taxing , every light in the dashboard was on , not turning over and no central locking .

I send Cathy messages and was advised to let them know the issue and they’d help (warranty ?)

I called out a mechanic where tests were ran and found that the battery was dead as a stone , and there were marks on the terminals showing it had been tended to previous.

I was back and forth with Cathy (have proof ) that the messages back were that the batter cost will be covered tonight .

However after many messages of being promised Donna (owner ) would contact , I got a message around a week later saying he wouldn’t be covering this cost as it’s a “service item “ some warranty eh ?

The central locking still is temperamental and one of the rear door handles has actually fallen off now , I’ve sent more videos and messages to Donnan since but now being left on “Unread “

A very disappointing and unprofessional approach from the owner and having to cover more costs for basic repairs you’d hoped would be checked out during a pre delivery inspection.

For a company trading for so long to have so many little reviews I hope this one stays visible to potential buyers .

The main office is in Limavady, and the second branch opened in Lisburn in 2015. D.A. Forgie is a leading dealer in Northern Ireland and throughout Ireland. We are the main dealer for many well-known brands such as Honda, Kubota Groundcare, Agriculture & Construction and Merlo tele handlers. All our products are tested by our highly qualified and experienced staff, who will be glad to help. We are happy to provide demonstrations of equipment functionality and offer advice based on our longstanding experience in this trade.

We are very proud of the fact we are a family business; we probably do not shout it loud enough! Ria completed her degree in Entertainment and Events Management at Glasgow Caledonian University, and upon returning home worked as an Events coordinator, before switching careers to work at D.A. Forgie. Susan completed a degree in Law and Economics and a Masters in Human Rights. She then went on to practice as a solicitor for 12 years specialising in family law and civil litigation. In 2020 Susan decided it was the right time for her to join her sister in the family business. Working in such a male-dominated sector, both Ria and Susan strive to encourage and empower women in the agricultural, construction and business sectors to become involved in their family business, no matter what it is.

AVOID DESMOND MOTORS.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY buying a new or used vehicle from Desmond Motors.

They are extremely dismissive, slow and difficult to deal with. Having purchased a used Nissan Qashqui, I spent the next 6 weeks negotiating with Liam (GM) and his team to fix and engine leak, 2 weeks after I purchased it on the Buncrana Road.

Once the oil leak was fixed, I had to return the vehicle for a second issue. I go the run around about parts, Liam cited that it is Ford I should have bought, his staff were not available for timely updates when all the while I had to transfer and continuously extend my insurance policy onto two terrible, old and what were the mechanic run around cars disguised as 'courtesy cars' in lieu.

I had to wait over 3 hours in the showroom for a car to brought and have missed numerous days with work because they sold a sub standard vehicle claiming they had completed 'checks'.

The blamed the suppliers, it being a Nissan engine and not a Ford for the delays but were unable to cite tracking orders or expected delivery timelines for the parts. I got the run around every single time.

The vehicle was returned to me the first time with an empty tank while it was in the garage, what I assumed was being repaired, without any reason or reimbursement. Customer care is poor, after sales service is poor.

All excuses and stories and no actual care for their customers only profit/sales.

Overall, a very, very poor dealership and would encourage new and existing customers to go elsewhere and don't be caught.

Attachments:
1- I spent the next 7 days calling daily, emailing Liam & his employees for an update regarding the part when it was clear on the initial assessment pic 3 that there was an issue. Pic 2 is what was on my car after the oil leak was 'repaired'.

Great Vehicle, awful customer experience. I will not be buying anymore vehicles from Desmond. My Ranger Raptor was delivered to me with cement dust all over the vehicle as it had been stored in a cement yard for a week because they would not deliver my expensive vehicle on the day I required, just to add I paid for the delivery. As I said the vehicle is great the dealer was not.
