imagine purchasing a car from these guys and giving them 19k euro and find they sell you a lemon and haven't a backbone to follow queries up.  I know full well that we signed a waiver excusing them from blame, however, DONT GET CAUGHT BY THEM, YOU.
We bought a hyundai ioniq 6 from them 2.5 weeks ago and after 500kms or less, most of which was driving from buncrana to Limerick, we had to be towed to a local hyundai dealer because the ICCU has to be replaced and 6 to 8 weeks car will be parked up.  I contacted auto fleet by phone, text and what's app and the response was nada nothing.   I  only wanted advice but you would swear they thought I was looking for a refund.
They are the most inhospitable people to deal with, haven't a clue about customer service or after care service and certainly haven't a clue about electric vehicles.  We had to point out missing charger cable even.  Please think twice about dealing with them unless you like dealing with bandits.
Totally ignorant of the personal circumstances that being without a vehicle for 2 months and don't give an absolute continental.
Advice to them, don't sell what you can't service and at least  develop empathy

Very poor service. I paid for a shed to be delivered and paid for freight from the supplier to Brian Scott and from Brian Scott to my location. I made it clear that I did not have lifting equipment to offload the shed, yet was told it needed lifting equipment when it arrived.
I spent weeks trying to get the company to refund me the extra cost I paid to hire lifting equipment but they refused.

Bought a CLA 250e off Danny recently, and can't fault either the car, or the amazing service he provides.  Imported it into the south, and he made collecting it very straightforward, bringing it down to Dublin for us to collect. We had a great experience hiring Romeo from Causeway Campers. The front tyres were quite worn but legal. We were shown around the motorhome with full instructions on how to use everything. The hot water control occasionally went to fault, although this was covered in the handover we relied on the information in the glovebox to rectify. The waste water level indicator did not work so judgement was required which is not so easy when it is an unfamiliar motorhome. We were asked for a deposit the day before picking up. As we were travelling it is fortunate we were able to deal with this. We also had to chase repayment. However we would recommend Causeway Campers and if we weren't buying our own motorhome would hire from them again.

One year later, I'm still disgusted.

Ten months after the rental (August 2025), I have still not received my $2,000 security deposit.
⁠I sent countless emails. Occasionally I received a reply, but only after weeks or even months of reminders. Eventually, they stopped responding altogether.

During extremely heavy rain, a rock fell onto the road and struck our camper, damaging the side fender. We reported the incident immediately, but were told the insurance would not cover the damage, despite it being an accident caused by severe weather. When we returned the camper, the damage was inspected and estimated at $800, which we paid. However, the remaining $1,200 of our $2,000 deposit was never refunded. After months of follow-up, the company changed its original assessment and claimed they would refund only $300, without providing any invoices or proof of additional repair costs. Despite repeated requests, we have received no documentation, no further response, and no refund.

As a side note, although minor compared to the financial loss, we waited for hours at the airport on the day of pickup due to delays. Communication throughout the rental was slow, confusing, and unprofessional, with responsibility constantly passed between different staff members. Despite remaining polite and patient throughout the entire process, we were ultimately met with silence, lost our $2,000 deposit, and what should have been a great travel experience became a very disappointing one.

Taking advantage of customers simply because they live far away is disgraceful. It is an unacceptable way to treat people.
And please don't respond with one of your standard apology messages. An apology is meaningless until the money is actually returned to my bank account.

Unfortunately this hasn’t been a great after-sales experience.

I will add initial stages were positive, Cathy sent videos and answered questions given distance made it tough to view in person .

The initial advert noted “no Vat to pay “ which made me interested initially and made a call to be advised it was a mistake and was actually a vat qualifying van , and the advert was changed to state so .

During videos I noted some bumps in the body , tape holding a door handle and damaged mirror .

I was still interested but negotiated a reduced price to allow for repairs , and take the sting out the initial misleading advert noting the vat costs and transport costs . (UK)

£1000 from the total balance .

I arranged transport (professional trailer ) and it was collected and dropped at my door .

The next morning (day one ) of planning to drive after insuring and road taxing , every light in the dashboard was on , not turning over and no central locking .

I send Cathy messages and was advised to let them know the issue and they’d help (warranty ?)

I called out a mechanic where tests were ran and found that the battery was dead as a stone , and there were marks on the terminals showing it had been tended to previous.

I was back and forth with Cathy (have proof ) that the messages back were that the batter cost will be covered tonight .

However after many messages of being promised Donna (owner ) would contact , I got a message around a week later saying he wouldn’t be covering this cost as it’s a “service item “ some warranty eh ?

The central locking still is temperamental and one of the rear door handles has actually fallen off now , I’ve sent more videos and messages to Donnan since but now being left on “Unread “

A very disappointing and unprofessional approach from the owner and having to cover more costs for basic repairs you’d hoped would be checked out during a pre delivery inspection.

For a company trading for so long to have so many little reviews I hope this one stays visible to potential buyers .

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY buying a new or used vehicle from Desmond Motors.

They are extremely dismissive, slow and difficult to deal with. Having purchased a used Nissan Qashqui, I spent the next 6 weeks negotiating with Liam (GM) and his team to fix and engine leak, 2 weeks after I purchased it on the Buncrana Road.

Once the oil leak was fixed, I had to return the vehicle for a second issue. I go the run around about parts, Liam cited that it is Ford I should have bought, his staff were not available for timely updates when all the while I had to transfer and continuously extend my insurance policy onto two terrible, old and what were the mechanic run around cars disguised as 'courtesy cars' in lieu.

I had to wait over 3 hours in the showroom for a car to brought and have missed numerous days with work because they sold a sub standard vehicle claiming they had completed 'checks'.

The blamed the suppliers, it being a Nissan engine and not a Ford for the delays but were unable to cite tracking orders or expected delivery timelines for the parts. I got the run around every single time.

The vehicle was returned to me the first time with an empty tank while it was in the garage, what I assumed was being repaired, without any reason or reimbursement. Customer care is poor, after sales service is poor.

All excuses and stories and no actual care for their customers only profit/sales.

Overall, a very, very poor dealership and would encourage new and existing customers to go elsewhere and don't be caught.
