I bought a Fiesta ST from Carroll & Roche. The car was nicely prepped and in their showroom.

All the staff are friendly and obviously true car people, which creates a good atmosphere. Some interesting machines in their showroom too to pour over.

I dealt with Seán who was a gent throughout. A few bits of work were agreed upon and the deal was done.

I collected the car and was delighted to find a bottle of champagne and prosecco on the passenger seat, a nice touch! The agreed upon work was completed and everything was great.

A persistent minor engine might and one or 2 other small issues over the following weeks were all dealt with by Seán without issue, which is the important thing as most cars have issues as they age.

I couldn't be happier overall with the car and the service received. Carroll & Roche, recommended all day long!

This was one of the worst and most stressful experiences I’ve ever had selling a car. I was promised €14,000, and based on that commitment, I moved forward with my new car transaction. However, the moment he realized I needed to complete the sale urgently, he suddenly dropped the offer to €11,000 right in the middle of the transaction.

It felt like pure pressure and manipulation — almost like being blackmailed by the situation, because he knew I had no choice at that point.

To make things worse, he then charged me €300 for a basic 3-pin charging plug, claiming he needed to change internal parts to resell the car. The car was still with him, and none of this was mentioned before the price drop. The whole thing felt deliberately planned to corner me.

I walked away feeling taken advantage of, misled, and pressured. I would strongly warn anyone to stay away. This experience was completely unprofessional and felt intentionally exploitative.

Went over to view a second hand car.
On the add it stated that it was an Irish.car. when I rang to enquire about the car I asked the salesman  specifically is this an imported car and he told me no it's an Irish car of origin.
Arrived over. I'm in the car with the senior salesman about to go for teat drive...I open the glove box to find an English MOT cert and question the salesman....he tried to gaslight me with sure you know no cars are Irish they're all made in factories in England and imported over! He knew right well I meant was it an Irish car of origin...instead of apologies for writing up incorrect information on the advertisement and telling me incorrect info when I rang to enquire if it's an Irish car or an import he tried to make me feel like a thick.
His attitude put me off buying the car plus if they're misleading me about a simple thing like whether it's an import what else could they be misleading me about.?
The Car salesman spent most of the time moaning about how difficult car sales are now and how he can't wait to retire....Jesus!!
Not a pleasant experience.
