Honesty, never usually review places. But Maynooth Cars have been an absolute pleasure to deal with. Trying to sell my car online, and received a phone call from David from Maynooth used cars, offering my what I was asking, had someone come out and the money was in my account before the car was even collected! DON’T BUY FROM THIS DEALER ! SCAM ARTIST!!

My partner traveled up from West Cork to purchase a 1.2l Skoda Yeti for €4500 with 96k miles on the clock .. Car was advertised with 6months on the NCT.. driving perfectly, all the specs and came with a 3month warranty .. seemed like a good deal.

When she arrived and was asking questions during inspection, she was told that the car didn’t come with any warranty as he was actually selling it privately.. and that if he were to give warranty on it, it would be another grand or so on the price ..

My partner was willing to trust him, given that it was associated with his registered business.. she bought the car..

Within 1h 30 of leaving a large red car oil light came on and saying ‘bring to workshop’ .. a loud clunking/rattling sound started coming from the engine.. progressively getting worse until she had to pull in on the side of the motorway .. she tried to get it to start again … the sound got progressively louder until the car died moments later.

I text David immediately..  he said ‘the car was driving perfectly… car bought as is’ .. he will now not pick up the phone to either myself or my partner.  She got scammed for €4500. The car is a write off .. the engine is gone.

Don’t trust this man. Avoid at all costs.. tell your friends . Maynooth Used Cars is a fraudulent company run by a dishonest and manipulative owner.
