I would like to leave a very positive review for Colum Murphy.
He is a very professional and very good person. His approach is very friendly and help us to choose the right car for us! Highly recommend him!
Thank you again Colum for my new Transporter PanAmericana.

I’ve been a customer of Joe Ferguson at Bright Motors for almost 20 years. From
Ford to Volkswagen commercials, Joe is the commercial Van specialist I’ve trusted all these years. Our selection of a new VW Transporter T7 was an easy choice for us. From order to delivery combined with the ease of purchase with VW Bank Financial services, Joe handled it all. We have referred Joe to many of our friends and colleagues over the years. All have purchased from Joe. Need I say any more. Even our boss Larry has approved yet again! Thanks Joe.!

So unprofessional. Was interested in a used van they had for sale. Arrived to have a look. Was told it was out on loan and wouldnt be back for a week and that id get a phone call the following week to update me. Waited the week. No phone call. Had to ring myself. Was told they'd call me back in 15 mins. No phone call back and didnt answer my call when I rang. Decided to call up to be told they sold the van. Would advise to avoid at all costs

Worst place to buy a car from.

Was told that service will be done in 1 week, called multiple times and was told that there is extra time needed, total time waited for the car to be serviced was 3 weeks. After i had to receive an invoice, was told im getting an invoice the following day, called multiple times and got it after 1 week.

Got the car superglued on the bumper, the wheels were painted random and now they are wavy, and the car got extra 1000km on the board and they lie they didn’t even drove it.

Went to a different service afterwards to check if all the “service” mentioned in the invoice were done, and found multiple issues that were not fixed.

Called back to them to get the car fixed properly because i have guarantee on it, and they said that “i had to book an appointment to get another vehicle until mine is getting fixed” but i was never told that i need an appointment, i had appointment to get the car fixed that should go together with an appointment on a vehicle that i can use until mine is fixed.

Claiming without evidence that I tampered with the water system on my VW California Grand, in spite of evidence that Trinity VW in Wicklow carried out work on the water system. This VW branch are refusing to carry out warranty work on a bogus claim, so I've had to get lawyers involved. It's taken so long despite contacting them months ago that it is now outside of warranty, and so they're now also using this as an excuse.

Between VW Liffey, Sandford Commercial & Trinity, this 100k cash investment while bringing me many memories on the road has given me nothing but nightmares with their various garages. It is no surprise car manufacturers are taking action against many branded dealerships & garages here in Ireland.

Why one star? If I have to lawyer up to get a warrenty repair having being called a liar, I consider this pretty much 1 star service.

He was contactable at all times. I purchased this car workout even test driving it as I trusted the professional information that Stephen passed onto me over the phone. I would recommend Stephen Dowling to anyone in purchasing a new car.

We had an excellent experience in changing car recently. Our dealings were mainly with Meja O’Connor who was superb in helping us through the process which was complex with scrappage scheme. She was highly professional, helpful, friendly, reassuring and kept us informed regularly. I also than Megan for her help with finances and governance. Happy to recommend Frank Keane VW as a result.

I recently bought an EV from Frank Keane Volkswagen Sandyford and had a great experience. Mark Judge was extremely helpful from my first enquiry, taking the time to explain the different battery options and driving ranges so I could make the right choice without any pressure.

Throughout the process, Mark was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. When I collected my new car, he patiently walked me through the infotainment system and answered all my questions, making sure I felt confident before driving away.

Excellent customer service from start to finish. I would highly recommend Frank Keane Volkswagen Sandyford, especially Mark Judge, to anyone looking for a new car.

I had a good experience with Volkswagen Sandyford. The team was professional, helpful, and made the process straightforward without any pressure. A special thanks to Kyle O’Leary, who provided excellent customer service, answered my questions clearly, and kept me updated throughout. Overall, a positive experience, and I’d be happy to recommend the dealership.

This was our first car purchase in Ireland, and we were incredibly lucky to have met such a professional salesperson, Meja O’Connor, who has an angelic smile. From the moment we placed our order to the day we collected the car, Meja gave us all the help and support we needed and patiently answered all of our questions. If I have any friends who are looking to buy a Volkswagen, I would have no hesitation in recommending Meja to them. She made the entire car-buying process so enjoyable and smooth. When it’s time for me to change my car in the future, I will definitely come back to her

I cannot recommend Conor and Megan at Frank Keane highly enough.

From start to finish, they both went above and beyond to help me secure my new car. What could have been a stressful process was made so much easier thanks to their professionalism, patience, communication and genuine commitment to helping me every step of the way.

They invested an incredible amount of time and effort into finding a finance solution that worked for me, keeping me informed throughout and never making me feel like just another customer. Their determination, positivity and support made all the difference.

The entire process was smooth, efficient and handled with the highest level of customer care. Nothing was too much trouble, and they genuinely shared in my excitement when everything finally came together.

I absolutely love my new car and I'm so grateful to Conor and Megan for making it happen. The service I received was exceptional from beginning to end, and I would have no hesitation in recommending Frank Keane to anyone looking for a new vehicle.

Thank you both for going the extra mile – it was truly appreciated!

Leah

I recently bought a brand new VW Tiguan Rline from Matteo he was excellent i was not intending to buy after a deal could not be done in Airside Joe Duffy. Matteo helped us find a better car than we were looking for at a great price gave me an excellent trade in and done more than was necessary. He couldn't of been more helpful. Trustworthy, Reliable and has excellent communication skills he made buying a car a simple process with a relaxed no pressure atmosphere. Could not recommend dealing with Matteo enough. Thank you.

I recently had a great experience with VW North Dublin and couldn't be happier with the service. I was changing over my car to a new model and what could have been a very stressful process, felt really easy and straightforward.

The team were very professional from start to finish and I especially want to mention Aaran Harte who was incredibly helpful and understanding throughout the process. He took the time to clearly explain everything, making sure I felt comfortable and informed at every step.

Overall, smooth and positive experience. I'm delighted with my new car. I would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of buying a new car or just have some questions.

Never had a worst experience with a garage! Went out twice to test drive 2 separate 2023 Tiguan R Lines Petrol Plug in. Was told on both occasions that the car I was buying would take a fast charger, would take 1 hour to fully charge and the range on the car would be 100km/120km. I paid for the car, waited 2 weeks as the log book wasn’t in the dealership. Was told buy the sales associate that he would do anything to help me so I asked him could he deliver the car as I’ve just had twins, which was no problem til the day it was ready. He rang and told me he was finished work at 5 o'clock and would deliver it then, he then rang at 5 o’clock the same day and said he couldn’t deliver it and it was there if I wanted to make my way to collect it. I did go collect it myself. Went and charged the car the next day a full charge was 4 hr 15 minutes, this car did not take a fast charger and the range for a full charge was 45km. I was sold a completely different car. I rang the sales associate to be told he was sorry there is a new version which had a “face lift” that he was telling me all about but unfortunately he got mixed up between 2 different year cars. The phone call ended with him telling me to just plug it in every evening and he’s sorry for the mix up. It was laughable at this point. I didn’t buy this car of the side of the road, it was bought in a main dealership. The car was handed straight back to them the same day. Absolutely disgrace wasting someone’s time like this. Really need to put there staff through some training on the cars there selling. Would never set foot back in the place.

** BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND MISLEADING

I am not happy with my first experience in this garage and based of the reviews I can see the majority of people are not happy either seems the same complaints in regards to the service. There is an engine light on my VW PASSAT a few months I tried to get this fixed in a garage 3 times and each time the fault light keeps coming back on so I said it would be best to get a VW garage to check it out and let me know what the problem would be. When I looked at the booking system online I wasn’t sure what to book in for so I phoned the reception and explained the issue with my engine light that I don’t know what’s causing it etc and she advised to book in for the vehicle health check online ( the free service) she said sure they can check it for you then and go from there getting booked in I said perfect that’s what I was looking for so I got off the phone and booked online for what she told me and booked a slot for today at 1pm. I received a confirmation email on the day of booking with the time slot for my car and also an email yesterday to say what exactly was the issue with the car which I then replied to and explained In full, and I DIDN'T get an email back. So I had to take time off work and flew the garage the next day for my appointment slot at 1pm. To be told that I don’t have any appointment booked in and what I would need is a diagnostic check for €190 euro ( WHICH ISNT AN OPTION TO BOOK ON THE WEBSITE???) that even if I book online it doesn’t mean an appointment is confirmed? My issue is here if the team emailed me the day before asking what the issue is (knowing my appointment is in 24 hours) I explained the issue and never got an email back so the garage were happy for me to waste my time and show up the next day for an appointment that was never booked. If the team knew they couldn’t fit me in or I booked for the wrong service why not ring me or email me? This is a joke! Also I said to the girl at the service desk that the receptionist had advised me to book for this service based off the issue and her reply was that well our receptionist wouldn’t have told you to do that, why would I make something like that up? I explained also my call would be recorded I can provide a date and time of it they should check it to see that their receptionists are giving out correct information then. They then said they can fit me in for my diagnostics in a months time but there’s no way I would give money to this garage to fix my car so unprofessional, proving misleading information without taken zero responsibility! Very bad service I would not recommend.

Tl:Dr A main-dealer service that left me stranded the very next day.

If I could give negative 5 stars, I would but I can't.

Reading through all the reviews makes me wonder a lot of things, even all the good reviews are not even real.. Look at the likes on the real reviews.. incredible how many people have had the same or worse experience as us.. incompetent customer service, poor after sales service, unskilled technicians working on the cars...

We bought our Volkswagen from Joe Duffy Volkswagen Finglas in March last year, and it’s been serviced exclusively with them under the Volkswagen Service Plan. Yesterday (Friday, 17 October 2025) was only our second scheduled service since buying the car and less than 24 hours later, it broke down completely.

The engine light came on, the car became undriveable, and AA through Volkswagen Assistance had to collect it. The AA technician said the air pump hadn’t been fitted correctly, which can cause several engine problems.

This isn’t the first time we’ve had issues here. On a previous visit, they replaced the wrong puddle light instead of fixing the faulty one, leaving two different lights and one still misaligned. The car was kept for ages and handed back unfinished, with nothing but a “complimentary clean.”

Every time there’s an issue, there’s never a replacement car available. They always say there’s a six-week waiting list, leaving you completely stuck while they try to fix problems they caused in the first place.

To make matters worse, the staff at the office are generally unpleasant to deal with. You never get the feeling anyone actually wants to help. You’d be lucky to even get someone to answer the phone at reception unless you’re trying to buy something from them.

We’ve already reached out to them several times before and given them every chance to put things right, but after the car broke down immediately after a full service, this was the final straw. The lack of care, attention, and responsibility is honestly shocking for a Volkswagen main dealer, especially when the car was both purchased and serviced (twice) through them.

Volkswagen Assistance Case #2025244076.

Before they post the usual “please reach out so we can look after you” message — I’ll actually be emailing Joe Duffy Volkswagen Finglas directly after posting this review, attaching the same details and case number.

If you see a generic reply here, just know they’ve already been contacted and can find all the details in that email. I’ll update this review promptly with any genuine follow-up.

Customers deserve accountability and professionalism, not excuses and copy-and-paste responses.

Update (20 October 2025):

> Since posting this review, I’ve had multiple calls from Joe Duffy Volkswagen Finglas — all giving contradictory information and showing no communication between departments. One person didn’t know why the car was towed, another insisted replacement cars are “always available,” and another asked how the car was after service, even though it had already broken down.

Dwayne (Service Manager) later confirmed the breakdown was caused by an unclipped air-pump connection after the air-filter change — clear evidence of poor workmanship.

When I collected the car, I found water damage and dirt on the passenger seat, still damp. The senior service manager, Caoloc, inspected it but denied responsibility, claiming it arrived that way — completely untrue, as I have active Carmour and seat-protection plans and the car was spotless when dropped off.

After much discussion, they agreed to recheck the seats and puddle lights, but still provided no written acknowledgment of either the fault or the damage. I was even told, “We would have dropped the car up to you – nobody asked you to take time off,” which perfectly sums up their attitude.

I’ve now escalated this to Volkswagen Ireland Customer Care for formal review. Between the confirmed fault, the new interior damage, and the complete lack of accountability, this experience shows serious quality-control and communication issues at this dealership.

Just bought a new car and dealt with corneliu who was a pleasure to deal with extremely helpful and pleasant
I could only recommend 100% and hopefully will deal with him again thanks Joe

I took my car to Volkswagen Swords for an oil change. I was told the service would take one day, but it ended up taking two days before I got my car back.

Before leaving the car, I also informed them that the front sensor warning light was on and asked them to check it. This is the second time I have taken my car there for the same issue, and once again, they didn't even look at it.

When I finally collected the car, they told me the brakes needed to be replaced, but they didn't have the parts in stock, so they couldn't do the repair. What really disappointed me was that they warned me that if anything happened in the meantime, it would be my responsibility. They also said they would call me the following day to arrange the repair, but nobody ever called.

The maintenance department lacks organization, communication, and accountability. It feels like the team needs better management and supervision to provide the level of customer service that customers expect.

It's very disappointing because you expect a main Volkswagen dealership to provide solutions, not create more problems or leave customers without answers.

Overall, I cannot recommend their service based on my experience.

I was supposed to go through warranty service after 30,000 km, but when I got the car back, I saw that they only changed the sticker at 60,000 km and nothing more. The warranty obligations state that they should change the coolant, filters, window wipers, charge the car battery and wash the car, but they indicated and wrote down the shortcomings that I did not ask them about. This is a bunch of junk, which I advise you not to contact under any circumstances.

Today, when I arrived at Volkswagen Swords and sat near the parts room, the staff member told me, “You’re sitting at my desk,” instead of directing me properly. When I went into the parts room, the parts manager, who was very grumpy, refused to give me a timeline for my part, even after four days of waiting. When I asked for a refund, he told me to wait outside. Sitting back down first staff member gave me a dirty look and told me to get up and leave his desk. Managers excuse was your disturbing him on a phone call. Finally, I got my refund, and the same female manager accused me of having a bad attitude as I wasn’t happy about how I was spoken too. When I explained what happened she took no responsibility for the team’s behaviour and never acknowledged the poor treatment from the staff only evaluated my response to abusive treatment. When Volkswagen Ireland contacted the manager here she denied everything and told Volkswagen Ireland that it was my fault with no explanation as to why. Would never buy a car off them again. Folks read others reviews too we can’t all be wrong.

I recently had several visits to the service department at Volkswagen Airside over a short period of time with my Tiguan, and I wanted to share my experience.

Firstly, I would like to recognise the staff on the ground — the service advisors and technicians were professional, helpful, and the quality of the work carried out appears to be very good. Communication during visits was clear, and the car was returned in good condition each time.

However, I was disappointed with the overall customer care from a management perspective. Over the course of roughly 2–3 months, I spent in excess of €3,300 on maintenance and repairs through the dealership, choosing the main dealer route specifically for peace of mind and long-term care of the vehicle.

Following this level of spend, I reached out to enquire about any form of customer loyalty or goodwill support but did not receive any response. Even a simple acknowledgement or follow-up would have made a difference.

While I appreciate the quality of the work and the professionalism of the staff, I feel there is a missed opportunity when it comes to looking after returning customers who are clearly committed to maintaining their vehicles within the Volkswagen network.

Overall, a positive experience at service level, but disappointing from a customer relationship perspective.
